Why not to carry a child facing the world
Never carry your baby in the position where his/her belly faces the world. This position is harmful; regardless some sling’s manufacturers recommendations.
A Child carried this way experiences the stress similar to the stress of an inexperienced driver. A Toddler is not able to predict the movements of a parent. His nervous system is constantly subjected to stimulation and receives too many signals. The child is unable to turn toward the parent or take a shelter in their arms. This can result in tremendous child anxiety, crying and troubles with falling asleep.
Another negative aspect is that child remains in a bad body position. His/her legs don’t find any support and the child is hanging, leaning on his/her genitals with their whole own weight. Also, the child’s spine is curved in the wrong direction.
